Frequently Asked Questions

Tutoring

Can I extend my session from 30 min to 60 min if needed?

Yes and no! Please kindly email your tutor about this  –  it depends on your tutor's availability for extending the session.

How many sessions can I book weekly?

Students can book a maximum of 5 sessions per week depending on different tutors' availabilities. We ask you to kindly respect our tutors’ time and the resources of our volunteers.

Can I stay in touch through emails and phone numbers with my tutor?

Yes, of course! One of the purposes of our tutoring program is to be the tie between volunteers and students so we encourage students to stay connected with their tutors.

I'm outside the U.S. can I still be a tutor or tutee?

Yes! Please double-check the time zone differences before you sign up for any class so you never miss a session!

On the booking page, how come it shows tutors are not available?

As the number of tutees increases, if our monthly tutees reach a certain amount of limit, we will likely close the booking calendar for a while until more tutors are available to book again.

What if I miss more than 3 sessions?

Please be respectful of our volunteers' time. Students who miss more than 2 sessions will no longer be able to book his/her next session in the upcoming 3 months.

Volunteering

Can I earn community service hours by volunteering at PinkGap?

Yes! Absolutely! We can provide a volunteer hours form for your time. For PinkGap's outreach, social media, and fundraising team members, we offer monthly hours for students who do their tasks.

Can I transfer my position if I no longer want to stay in this role?

Yes! We respect your time and if you no longer feel like doing the work you are doing right now, let us know early so we can transfer you to a different team!

I can no longer be a member of PinkGap, what should I do next?

Let us know! Please email us one month ahead and complete your tasks before you leave.

I'm outside the U.S. can I still be a volunteer?

The answer is still a big YES! PinkGap is an international nonprofit and our girls come from all different places such as Canada, China, France, Russia, India, and more.

What would happen to inactive members?

We will remove inactive members from our group chat as our ongoing webinars and conferences require members who take the tasks to finish their work on time, however, we always welcome anyone to rejoin at any time!
